Coach - Jim Wright (Cincinnati Country Day)

SWOTCCCA Lifetime Achievement Award-Jim Wright

At this time, The Southwest Ohio Track and Cross Country Association would like to present their Lifetime Achievement Award to Jim Wright

Throughout his 57 years of coaching, Jim has coached at Kenton High School, Reading High School, Wilmington College, Cincinnati Country Day, Mariemont High School, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy and is currently on his second stint at CCDS.

His teams’ have won many Sectional and District championships, dozens of league championship, a team state runner up, eight individual state champions and one national champion and All-American.

Jim has been instrumental in forming coaching and officiating associations in Southwestern Ohio. He was also a member of state executive boards. He helped organize the Midwest Meet of Champions, and was the Ohio team coach for three years. He has also won the Ed Barker Award, the Fred Dafler Career Coach Award and has been commended by the Ohio Legislature for his work with track and field in the state. He is a member of numerous Hall of Fames, including OAT & CCC, Reading HS, University of Findley, Cincinnati Country Day and the Greater Cincinnati Running Hall of Fame.

Jim shows a true love for the sport. He has been an influence to any coach or track runner he has worked with. He is always available to help anyone who asks. There are many times during practice when a coach, and/or athlete from another school will show up to get some advice, technique corrections,  or encouragement.

From all of the coaches and athletes in SW Ohio, we would like to thank you, Jim, and present you with this award.
